Other Ideas

I am mainly interested in issues relating to signal representation and the attendant application issues in computer vision, information retrieval and signal processing. Other interests include topological processing, approximate algorithms, processing with dynamic computational constraints.

Projects:

I'm involved in the Kia project that deals with the problem of automatic summarization of films via a fully automatic analysis of audio and video data. A possible solution involves the following:

  1.  Computing film segments
  2.  Stochastic Film Analysis
  3.  Shot Condensation

These pages contain a summary of my recent work on film scene segmentation. Newer ideas on that I'm working on at the moment that deal with shot condensation and stochastic film analysis are briefly sketched out. You can also find pages containing summaries of older projects, including VideoQ, and some other ideas that I hope to pursue after my Ph.D. You can also find a list of my publications.

Please feel free to get in touch with me or with Prof. Shih-Fu Chang on the ideas presented here.
