Too often bashed; let's remember how things were before it existed. One of the first to bring Chinatown quality and authenticity uptown. And still great for lunch, if you go after 2 to miss the crowds. Also, something new seems to have happened recently. Sometime between about the 48th and 54th month of my patronage, I started getting smiles from the help. Proves it can be done.

It's a mixed bag. Some dishes are quite good: mixed seafood w/noodle soup ma po tofu any noodle soup little juicy buns scallion pancakes congee (juk) [breakfast only] Ollie's was the first on the heights to offer the mandarin-style noodle soups, and theirs are still the best: they're tasty, inexpensive, filling, and relatively healthy.

I always expect Ollie's food to be slightly better then it really is. Anyway, I find that Beef w/ String Beans one of the better dishes, and avoid the lo-mein, the noodles are too soggy.

I think they have the best dumpling around Columbia. Their Lemon Chicken isn't that bad.

excellent noodles, good prices (half portions are great), good variety. Should be better rated
