The ADVENT Research Consortium promotes industrial collaborations with Columbia's research teams in the media technology area.

The expanding research scope of the ADVENT program covers all areas of media representation, analysis, compression, content management, manipulation, recognition, transmission, and security. Columbia groups belonging to ADVENT are: the Digital Video/Multimedia Group (DVMM), the Multimedia Signal Processing Lab (MMSP), the Laboratory for Recognition and Organization of Speech and Audio (LabROSA), and the Wireless Communications and Signal Processing Group (WCSP).
