Jae-Gon
Kim is currently a visiting research scientist in the Dept. of
Electrical Engineering at Columbia University. He received the
B.S. degree in electronics from Kyungpook National University,
Taegu, Korea, in 1990 and the M.S. degree in Electrical and Electronic
Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology
(KAIST), Taejon, Korea, in 1992. He is currently a member of the
Dept. of Broadcasting Media Technology at Electronics and Telecommunications
Research Institute (ETRI), Korea, since 1992. He is also a Ph.
D. student in the KAIST in part time. His research interests include
content-based video indexing, video summarization, multimedia
content description and MPEG-7. His current work in the ADVENT
group at Columbia University is development of content-based transcoding
for Universal Multimedia Access framework
