Lexing Xie is a Ph.D. student at the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Columbia University. She obtained her B.S. in EE from Tsinhgua University, Beijing, China, 2000. Her current project focuses on video mining and unsupervised pattern discovery. She is generally intersted in problems on the analysis and mining of multimedia data relating to vision, audition and language processing; solutions involving novel techniques in machine learning, signal processing and statistical pattern recognition; applications in the analysis, recognition and summarization of large multimedia corpora including video, audio, images and text.
